Northern Economic Consulting, Inc. has been providing economic analysis and expert testimony to clients in New England since 1985. Recent research projects have examined issues such as Vermont's economic competitiveness, the impacts of sales tax differentials on boarder towns, the feasibility of alternative funding mechanisms for a proposed long term health care program, and the impact of an electric utility rate increase on low income residents.

Richard Heaps and Arthur Woolf of Northern Economic Consulting, Inc. have been providing litigation support and expert testimony for New England and New York clients for more than twenty years. We have testified in a range of matters including wrongful death and personal injury, valuation of life care plans, employment termination, business damages, and other legal issues. We also prepare business valuations for courtroom presentation and defense.

Since 1992, Northern Economic Consulting, Inc. has been publishing The Vermont Economy Newsletter, the leading source of timely economic news and analysis about the State of Vermont. This monthly newsletter examines issues such as prospects for economic growth, job creation, income growth, the outlook for retail sales, tourism, and housing prices, trends in State government spending and revenue, and much more.

Each January the Vermont Economy Newsletter hosts the Vermont Economic Outlook Conference. This annual event provides an opportunity for area economists, policymakers, business people, and other interested Vermonters to explore Vermont's economic outlook in relation to the national and global economic environment, in what has become the premier economic gathering in Vermont.
